Scenic location surrounded by mountains at three sides

Our hotel was founded in 1904 as Tashiro Ryokan (Tashiro-kan), consisting of 3 guest rooms in Miyanoura street in Yakushima. Its name was changed in 1986 to Tashiro Annex, and the location was moved to the gateway of Yakushima, a world heritage island, which is located along the upstream of Miyanoura River, as it is now. The location is a scenic place surrounded by mountains at its three sides, and is the meeting point of Miyanoura River, which originates from Mt. Miyanoura, Kyushu’s highest peak, and the Shiratani River, which originates from Shiratani Unsui Gorge.
We hope that you will use our hotel as a base for sightseeing in Yakushima and as a place of healing from the hustle and bustle of the city.
